eHealth for disease monitoring


Together with prof. Pia Munkholm I have  developed Constant Care, a web-based symptom and calprotectin monitoring program. The system has been developed in order to facilitate home monitoing and self-initiated therapy for patients with inflammatory bowel disease as well as patients with irritable bowel syndrome. Thereby we can integrate epidemiological pattern recognition into clinical practice as well as individualise close disease monitoring and treatment, improve adherence and compliance the therapy and empower patients.


Constant Care is available for both children (<18 years) & adults with inflammatory bowel disease and/or irritable bowel syndrome.  It is owned by the Capital Region, Denmark and is available free of charge.


The Constant Care system has been validated in 3 PhD projects and in several publications:
